Hey besties! Hannah here👋 It's that time of the week again when I fill you in on all of my favorite tips and tricks for GOOD marketing practices (for beginners!)
Good Marketing is the key to success for most companies in this new digital age.
What I mean by good marketing is communicating the who, what, why, and where of your business to your audience! It can be hard to do that when you don't know who your customers are, what they want, or what they need.
Often times businesses accidentally end up marketing as if they are talking to a mirror, instead of having a two-way conversation with another person. So let's talk about what marketing is and what marketing is not.
Marketing is communication✅
Marketing is not a shortcut to success❌
It's not just about making sales. It's important to understand what your customers need/want before you offer them anything, and then make sure you are offering at the right time.
You don't have to be flawless
Don't let fear that you're not putting your best foot forward hold you back from connecting with your audience. When we refer to bad marketing we're not referring to beginners who are just starting out and who will undoubtedly get better over time; we are referring to pushy professionals who throw spaghetti at the wall and hope it sticks.
So long as you don't push products without understanding what the audience wants or needs and you make satisfying current/future customers a priority you are in the green!
Good practices in general
When you are starting out don't overthink your marketing strategy or try to make it perfect - just do your best to communicate who, what, why, and where of your business to your audience! Some might say that doesn't count as marketing but at the very minimum, it's good practice in general and will without a doubt garner positive results.
As you begin to carve out a niche you'll start to see your data grow, demographics based on social media interaction, and an active community form. From there you can run in any direction you would like with a more advanced approach.
